List of the Different Roles and Responsiblities of the President
Head/Chief of State - The President is the head of the US Government and a symbol of the US to the rest of the world. This also means they perform the ceremonial duties for the country.
Chief Executive - The President is the head of the Executive Branch, and their most recognized duty is to enforce the laws of the nation.
Chief Legislator - Proposes and shapes laws through what the Legislature has given them.
Chief Administrator - The President is the manager of the largest branch of government and a boss to over three million employees and a three trillion dollar budget.
Party Leader - The President is the leader of their respective party. If the President is from the Republican party, then they are the head of the Republican party.
Chief Diplomat - Develops and implements US foreign policy using tools such as the military, diplomacy, etc.
Commander in Chief - Even though the President must be considered a civilian, they are the Commander of all US Armed Forces. For this reason, the President is the only one allowed to fire nuclear weapons.
